    Silver True

"The name of Silver True is still found in pedigrees today, mostly through one of her last foals. In 1978, the 14-year-old mare gave birth to a gray Buckpasser colt eventually named Silver Buck. Silver Buck was a multiple stakes winner during his career, but his true fame was as a stallion. He sired Hall of Fame champion Silver Charm, as well as graded stakes winners Forever Silver, Silver Survivor, Classic Endeavor, Silver of Silver, Bay Street Star, and Silver Maiden"

Vampire, the most vicious broodmare. When her first foal was born she killed it and seriously injured her groom in the process. Despite all that she managed to have 10 foals. Her most famous is Flying Fox, winner of the English Triple Crown in 1896 and was a highly successful stallion in France.

the sad tragic fate of Swap's dam, Iron Reward.

"Dam of champion Swaps, as well as winners The Shoe and Like Magic

Iron Reward died of starvation in 1975 at the age of 29, sharing the fate of many unfortunate mares who lived at Rex Ellsworth’s ranch. In all, over 130 mares and foals were found on the ranch, five were dead, four had aborted due to neglect, and the rest were severely malnourished"

    Searching

"As brilliant as she was on the track, she was even better in the breeding shed. Her first foal was a small dark brown filly sired by Swaps. Later named Affectionately, that filly was a three-time champion and Hall of Fame member. Searching produced two more exceptional fillies directly after, Arlington-Washington Lassie Stakes winner Admiring, and Frizette and Futurity Stakes winner Priceless Gem "
