A note on forum etiquette

kyleakylea Administrator
Dear members,

We think everyone could use a refresher on the forum rules. Please take some time to reread the rules, which can be found here.

Remember that differing viewpoints are allowed, and members should not be criticized for the opinions they hold. It is ok to disagree, but please be respectful at all times. Treat other members how you would like to be treated!

As a member you are responsible only for your own behavior, and you should not attempt to enforce the forum rules. If you believe that another forum member has violated the rules, contact a moderator. Please do not start or participate in debates over rule violations or the behavior of other members.

Please note the new rule about double posting:
Avoid double posting. Posting immediately after your own last post (with no one else in between) is highly discouraged, unless the new post includes new or different information. If you can consolidate ideas into a single comment, please do so.

As always, our rules serve only to make this a safe and enjoyable community for all members. We may delete comments that we find to be in violation of the rules. If you notice that many of your comments are removed by the moderators, please adjust your behavior.

If you have questions you may contact us directly or send an email to forum@zenyatta.com

Thank you,
The moderators

We have reinstated the ability to flag inappropriate comments (click the "Flag" link at the top right of each comment). When flagging, please clearly state why you believe the flagged comment violates the rules. Please do not abuse this feature.
  • Thank you @kylea for sending us a much needed reminder of the forum rules. I know in a forum situation, without visual clues like body language and vocal intonations, it's hard to interpret the postings merely with written words. That is why we should be much more self aware with our selection of verbiage when posting and how it could be interpreted on the receiving end.

As you mentioned above which is a great "Golden Rule":
Treat other members how you would like to be treated! :oD

Other posters should be very tolerant and not read into people's posts either. It is after all a two-way street.
  • My message was intended to thank kylea for her efforts (as we all fall astray) and was meant as a general comment meant for everyone in the forum.

So was mine meant as a general comment. Everyone should be tolerant and not take things personally.
