Hope it brings a lot more...now it's up to $4,600 with 51 bids...54 bids...$4,907.57...after 72 bids the leather halter with a Zenyatta brass nameplate and letter of authenticity by William Farish of Lane's End sold for $6,712.50. Proceeds go the Kentucky Red Cross.
  • I had seen the notice in FB about this halter and how the proceeds were going to be used. Kudos to all involved. Thanks, Shannon for the final result.
  • Really interesting about the halter.
  • For Heidi K:

I am fighting a nasty chest cold, it hit me yesterday, may or may not make it to the dog show Sunday. Just wanted to give you a heads-up. there'll be more shows down the way so I'll be back down there before long, and after June the new puppy will be with us too!

Today is not fun, but I'll be better shortly...

So glad to see that halter brought so much money. Our Queen still has that magic touch, doesn't she!!
  • There is another Zenyatta halter that is going to be auctioned.

(Hope the link works!) All proceeds will benefit the Living Arts & Science Center (LASC), a not-for-profit educational arts and science organization in Lexington, KY.
  • HuH! Wonder why they didn't put it on eBay where they would find many more bidders. I hope they get a good price. I've never heard of biddingforgood . com
Funny! I use to live right across the street from the Living Arts & Science Center and taught a class there once.
  • What a wonderful keepsake to have. Glad it pulled in that much money for a worthy cause. I hope whoever won that bid realizes what a priceless item they have :)
  • Just read on Team Zenyatta (Twitter) that the baby boy weighs in at 191 lbs now...He has really grown...;=)

LOL That was two weeks ago! He's probably put on another 60 pounds by now.
  • That foal video is just so darn cute!! Thank you for sharing it, Keta! I just love how those gangly legged little foals try to buck, jump and run all the same time before they get all completely coordinated - they are so precious! :)
