A wonderful collection of photos of Animal Kingdom-BGG "The King" - Animal Kingdom arrives at Arrowfield Stud Bronwen Healy 28 August 2013 He's here. He likes peppermints. He's tall. Leggy. Athletic. And he's my "New Boy". He's the American and world champion racehorse, Animal Kingdom. I was so excited to meet him. Is there a little bit of Phar Lap to his looks? I like to think so.... I fed him some peppermints. It's important for a girl to bond with her horses. And with me, I just can't help myself.... It was great to see the stallion staff. Joe, the stallion manager, who's really ace, joked that he's been practicing "Pinkie's Song", to get ready for my arrival! http://bronwenhealyphotography.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-king-animal-kingdom-arrives-at.html?m=1
Animal Kingdom has his first mares in foal By Bloodstock World Staff RacingPost.com 10:58AM 22 SEP 2013 KENTUCKY Derby and Dubai World Cup hero Animal Kingdom has had six of his first mares scanned in foal at Arrowfield Stud in Australia. The five-year-old son of Leroidesanimaux was retired this year after a glittering career for trainer Graham Motion and owner-breeder Team Valor. Arrowfield operations manager Sam Fairgray said: "He's the smartest first-season stallion I have seen in the barn, an absolute natural and a pleasure to work with." The high esteem in which he is held by Australian breeders is reflected in the quality of his early coverings this year. They include Queensland Oaks heroine Vitesse Dane, Merlene De Lago, a Group 2-winning daughter of Golden Slipper winner Merlene, and stakes scorers Armed For Action, Gibraltar Campion, Miss Bussell and Suspicion. http://www.racingpost.com/news/horse-racing/animal-kingdom-has-his-first-mares-in-foal/1534781/#newsArchiveTabs=last7DaysNews
