Great update from WinStar Farm about Superfection (Super Saver's half brother.): Meet Superfection! He is a 2010 gelding by Medaglia d'Oro out of Supercharger. He was bred and raised by WinStar and is a half-brother to 2010 Kentucky Derby Winner Super Saver! Superfection was sold by WinStar in the 2011 Saratoga Yearling Sale for 1.2 million. However, after suffering an injury, Superfection never made it to the racetrack. What he found instead was Samantha. She adopted him shortly after his injury and has been rehabbing and retraining him ever since. It has been a slow process, but now Superfection and Samantha are onto flat work and hope to compete a little bit this year in some flat classes. Samantha says Superfection is an easy going horse who has a wonderful personality, just like his brother Super Saver! We wish nothing but the best for Samantha and Superfection in their journey! We cannot wait to see how they progress together! (https://scontent-a-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/p296x100/1530377_10151962197563922_1230427104_n.jpg)
Palace Malice an Eclipse Award finalist, resumes training in Florida by Ben Baugh Aiken Standard Online Posted: Thursday, January 9, 2014 3:01 p.m. The 2013 Aiken Trained Horse of the Year is an Eclipse Award finalist. Dogwood Stable’s Palace Malice joins Travers Stakes winner Will Take Charge, and Kentucky Derby winner Orb, as finalists for the Male 3-Year-Old Championship. The Eclipse Awards will be held Jan. 18 at Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino in Hallandale Beach, Fla. “I thought he was worthy of being a finalist, but my opinion of him being a finalist, and Palace Malice being a finalist is two different things,” said W. Cothran Campbell, Dogwood Stable president. “I was glad that he did receive the recognition along with Orb and Will Take Charge. I would have to think realistically that Will Take Charge will be the 3-Year-Old Champion. I’m glad to be a finalist. We will have the opportunity in 2014 to turn the tables on Will Take Charge. We will certainly try to do that.” Palace Malice won the 145th running of the Grade 1 Belmont Stakes and the Grade 2 Jim Dandy Stakes during his sophomore campaign. Dogwood Stable has had two previous Eclipse Award winning runners, Inlander, 1987 outstanding Steeplechase Horse and Storm Song, 1996 outstanding 2-Year-Old Female. Campbell received the Eclipse Award of Merit in 2012 for a lifetime of outstanding achievement in Thoroughbred racing. The 4-year-old colt arrived at Palm Meadows Training Center in Boynton Beach, Fla. at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, and galloped Wednesday morning. “He went beautifully, and Todd (Plecther, Palace Malice’s trainer at the racetrack) was delighted with his condition,” said Campbell. “And boy, I’ve got to salute Brad Stauffer, Gene Tucker and Daniel Negrete, who took care of him and groomed him. Todd plans to breeze him Sunday or Monday.” Campbell was overwhelmed by the community’s support that saw more than 500 people turnout for Palace Malice’s gallop last Saturday afternoon. “It was truly a dramatic outpouring of affection and interest from the community,” said Campbell.
From Claiborne Farm's facebook: Claiborne sires sweep the graded stakes at Gulfstream Park today as Summer Front (War Front) and Lea (First Samurai) both win!
With all that inbreeding I am not sure why they want to go back. Since she never raced due to injury and her mother had a similar one, then retired due to injury, I would like to see her bred to a stallion that raced sound for 3 - 4 years.

Apparently the foal is a real looker. They need to stop going on speed and looks, but endurance and strength. Who cares what it looks like as long as it is sound and has ability

I feel the same way. A lot keep breeding for speed, if the horse isn't sound the speed isn't going to matter.
