Weekly Handicapping Contest

    Del Mar - September 3

    Race 3 - #13 Jump the Tracks - $50 WP - TOTAL BET = $100
    Jump the Tracks
is cutting back in distance and looks to be the one to close the best as the finish line approaches.

    Race 5 - C.E.R.F. Stakes - #4 Miss Sunset - $100 W - TOTAL BET = $100
    Miss Sunset
has finished in the money in all five 2018 starts and is 4 for 4 at Del Mar.

    Race 9 - Del Mar Futurity(GI) - #3 Roadster - $100 W - TOTAL BET = $100
looked magnificent on debut. He could be challenged by #7 Game Winner but watching the replays of their debuts, Roadster was never even asked and still ran a tick of a second faster than Game Winner who looked like he was exerting more effort.

    Race 10 - #3 Cool Your Jets - $70 WP - TOTAL BET = $140
    Cool Your Jets
closes well and I think the extra 1/16 than his previous race at Del Mar will be to his benefit.

    Del Mar - September 3rd:

Race 4 - Del Mar Juvenile Fillies Turf Stakes: $75 to WPS on Summering; $25 to PS on Bizwhacks

Race 9 - G1 Del Mar Futurity - $100 to WPS on Roadster

    Saratoga - September 3rd:

Race 9 - G2 Bernard Beruch Handicap: $250 to Win on Voodoo Song

Voodoo Song is 5-for-5 at Saratoga, including in a Grade 1, and he's the lone speed in this race. They're going to have to do a lot to run him down.

Race 10 - G1 Hopeful Stakes: $50 to WPS on Mucho; $25 to Show on Mind Control

My head was a little fuzzy on Saturday and Sunday, so I didn't end up doing much handicapping. It's probably for the best though because the horses that I thought would do well in particular races, just didn't. Hopefully today's run is better.
  • Handicapping Contest Results:

    1 - @jaefeathered - Summering ($277.50); Bizwhacks ($65.00); Roadster ($105.00); Mucho ($137.50); Mind Control ($277.50) = $862.50
    2 - @KenHamilton1955 - Business Cycle ($36.00); Bellafina ($147.00); Jump the Tracks ($235); Miss Sunset ($160) = $578.00
    3 - @sarinne

At this point I'm thinking we can play next on 9/29 at Belmont and Santa Anita, but we can play it by ear. Let me know if you guys are interested in doing any weekends between now and then.
  • Congratulations, @jaefeathered!
  • Yeah Jae!
  • Congrats @jaefeathered! I went out today for the first time in a week, and am exhausted. What an awful cold, I hope you feel better!
  • Handicapping Contest for September 29th-30th, 2018:

    Belmont Equibase Entries:

    Santa Anita Equibase Entries:

If you have any requests for specific race PPs, just let me know and I'll try to scrounge some up for you.

Theme: Your Choice! You must use a budget of $1,000 using a minimum of three races across the weekend at either Santa Anita or Belmont. You may write reasons for just one of the races, but people might ask questions about other races after the fact.
  • Thanks J. Need a distraction.
  • I'm on the road right now but I just wanted to get my picks in for the JCGC. I'll do $50 each to win/place on Diversify and then $100 on Mendelssohn to show.

I'm going to go with $50 to Win, Place, and Show on Vibrance in the G1 Chandelier at Santa Anita tonight, because she's the only filly in the field that has gone a route of ground and the only closer. I'm going to do $50 to Win, Place and Show on Brill as well since she's such a good price and she should be better routing.

And then I'll go with $500 to win on Accelerate in the Awesome Again.
