Just read your entry dated June 28th. The subject was breeding for soundness and Phalaris Disease. Very informative! It is hard to believe that unsound horses are continually bred to eachother. The industry had better wake up, or there will be no industry in 30 years! What good are these sire lines if they produce horses that can only hold up for a couple of starts a year, because that is the direction we are heading in! Keep up this great writing! Very enjoyable and informative!

Well, everyone, I was away at a horse show for a few days and then returned home to find that because of lightning, my Internet was down! But it is back up and running and I would like to share with you the posts I published through my iPhone during this ordeal.
America missed out on its chance at Triple Crown this year when I'll Have Another was scratched and retired the day before the Belmont. But perhaps England can receive its first Triple Crown winner since 1970 when Camelot goes to post in the St. Leger next month. You can read about this spectacular colt in my newest post here: http://pastthegrandstand.blogspot.com/2012/08/camelots-date-with-destiny.html
Thank You for the story of Camelot! I am enjoying your posts and knowledge. You are very knowledgeable about pedigrees. I find it interesting, could you point me towards some of your other posts in which you discuss bloodlines? I am interested in Damascus, specifically, but any of the lines that do not seem to be as popular today would interest me. I see Northern Dancer all over the place, any other lines getting any play nowadays? Thank You!

Thank you very much! I love bloodlines and they are nearly always included in any feature of a horse on my blog, such as in a Juvenile Spotlight, Stallion Feature, Derby Hopeful, Oaks Contender, After the Auction, any "Part One" of a sale I have featured, and so forth. Also, a horse I have featured on my blog that has no Northern Dancer in his pedigree is Yes It's True. You can read about him here: http://pastthegrandstand.blogspot.com/2012/07/stallion-feature-yes-its-true.html
And, of course, at the top of my blog (below my logo) is a series of tabs on which you can click to read posts regarding the title of those tabs. For more on pedigrees, I suggest you click the "Breeding" tab. But you could also see the Sales, Juvenile Spotlights, and even the Breeders' Cup tab for more on pedigrees. I almost always include pedigree in my posts
A horse that I greatly admire and adore is A.P. Indy. I love his presence in a horse's pedigree, as I believe he has a great influence of stamina and soundness on a horse. I wrote about him in this post: http://pastthegrandstand.blogspot.com/2012/01/legacy-of-ap-indy.html
I am also a huge fan of dam lines, especially Reine De Course mares, or mares that have had a great influence on the breed. My favorite broodmare of all-time would have to be the incredible La Troienne. Though I have never done a post on her, she is been included on my blog on numerous occasions. For more on a few remarkable broodmares (recent ones), you can read this post: http://pastthegrandstand.blogspot.com/2012/07/recent-remarkable-broodmares.html
Sorry if I got a little carried away with this, just wanted to give you several ideas I'm always afraid people will get bored with my dissection of pedigrees, so it's always great to hear that someone enjoys it! Thanks again!
I have some reading to do! Yay! Your enthusiasm and spirit are so refreshing! Being old enough to have watched Affirmed and Alydar, Ruffian, and other 70's gifts, (as I call them) I get to read about them through your eyes! You are a gift, keep writing! I will keep reading!
Today's post features two talented juvenile fillies, who debuted at tracks of completely different levels. Both of them, however, are sired by very well-known stallions who reside at Lane's End. The fillies are Dreaming of Julia and Stopshoppingdebbie. You can read about them here: http://pastthegrandstand.blogspot.com/2012/08/juvenile-spotlight-dreaming-of-julia.html
Have a splendid evening! And thanks everyone for your support; it really means a lot!

Today I share with you a brief story about Luxury of Time, one of the sweetest horses I've ever met. She is one of the rescued Asmussen mares currently at Remember Me Rescue. You can read about her here: http://pastthegrandstand.blogspot.com/2012/07/the-luxury-of-time.html
Have a great Sunday, everyone!
